Picture books, children's dolls and hundreds of gas masks are among the personal items left behind in a Chernobyl ghost town which paint an eerie picture of all that remains of a community that was once 50,000-strong. Urban explorer, Adam Mark, from Denbighshire in Wales, visited Pripyat just a few days ago and captured chilling footage of the city - which appears to have been frozen in time. Plants are seen creeping into an abandoned bus, forgotten fairground, hastily abandoned tower block and hall as nature gradually reclaims the area. Everyday objects such as toys, books and medicine bottles can still be seen, as residents were told they would be able to return home in three days, yet 35 years later the Soviet town still lies abandoned.

They are gossips,  slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;  they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.  Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

A Republican congressman is predicting "bloodshed" if elections in America continue to be "rigged."

The sanguine warning comes from U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina, who was addressing a crowd Sunday night.

"The things that we are wanting to fight for, it doesn't matter if our votes don't count," he said, according to a now-restricted Facebook livestream and videos tweeted by a Democratic congressional staffer.

"Because, you know, if our election systems continue to be rigged and continue to be stolen, then it's going to lead to one place – and it's bloodshed."

Christians are ambassadors for Christ. They are representatives from Heaven to this dying world. And because of our presence here, things will change.

My sister, Betsy, and I were in the Nazi concentration camp at Ravensbruck because we committed the crime of loving Jews. Seven hundred of us from Holland, France, Russia, Poland and Belgium were herded into a room built for two hundred. As far as I knew, Betsy and I were the only two representatives of Heaven in that room.

We may have been the Lord’s only representatives in that place of hatred, yet because of our presence there, things changed. Jesus said, “In the world you shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” We too, are to be overcomers – bringing the light of Jesus into a world filled with darkness and hate.

Sometimes I get frightened as I read the Bible, and as I look in this world and see all of the tribulation and persecution promised by the Bible coming true. Now I can tell you, though, if you too are afraid, that I have just read the last pages. I can now come to shouting “Hallelujah! Hallelujah!” for I have found where it is written that Jesus said,

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things
and I will be His God,
and he shall be My son.”
This is the future and hope of this world. Not that the world will survive – but that we shall be overcomers in the midst of a dying world.

Betsy and I, in the concentration camp, prayed that God would heal Betsy who was so weak and sick.

“Yes, the Lord will heal me,”, Betsy said with confidence.

She died the next day and I could not understand it. They laid her thin body on the concrete floor along with all the other corpses of the women who died that day.

It was hard for me to understand, to believe that God had a purpose for all that. Yet because of Betsy’s death, today I am traveling all over the world telling people about Jesus.

There are some among us teaching there will be no tribulation that the Christians will be able to escape all this.  These are the false teachers that Jesus was warning us to expect in the latter days.  Mos of them have little knowledge of what is already going on across the world. I have been in countries where the saints are already suffering terrible persecution.

In China, the Christians were told, ” Don’t worry, before the tribulation comes you will be translated- raptured.”  Then came a terrible persecution.  Millions of Christians were tortued to death.  Later, I heard a Bishop from China say, sadly,

“We have failed..
We should have made the people strong for persecution,
rather than telling them Jesus would come first.
Tell the people to be strong in times of persecution,
how to stand when the tribulation comes,
to stand and not faint.”

I feel I have a divine mandate to go and tell the people of this world that it is possible to be strong in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We are in training for the tribulation, but more than sixty percent of the Body of Christ across the world has already entered into the tribulation.  There is no way to escape it.  We are next.

Since I have already gone through prison for Jesus’ sake, and since I met the Bishop in China, now every time I read a good Bible text I think, “Hey, I can use that in the time of tribulation.” Then I write it down and learn it by heart.

When I was in the concentration camp, a camp where only twenty percent of the women came out alive, we tried to cheer each other up by saying, “Nothing could be any worse than today.” But we would find the next day was even worse. During this time a Bible verse that I had committed to memory gave me great hope and joy.

“If you be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye;
for the spirit of the glory and of God resteth upon you;
on their part evil is spoken of,
but on your part He is glorified.”
I Peter 4:14“

I found myself saying, “Hallelujah!
Because I am suffering, Jesus is glorified!”

In America, the churches sing, “Let the congregation escape tribulation”, but in China and Africa the tribulation has already arrived. This last year alone more than two hundred thousand Christians were martyred in Africa. Now things like that never get into the newspapers because they cause bad political relations. But I know. I have been there. We need to think about that when we sit down in our nice houses with our nice clothes to eat our steak dinners. Many, many members of the Body of Christ are being tortured to death at this very moment, yet we continue right on as though we are all going to escape the tribulation.

Several years ago I was in Africa in a nation where a new government had come into power. The first night I was there some of the Christians were commanded to come to the police station to register. When they arrived they were arrested and that same night they were executed. The next day the same thing happened with other Christians. The third day it was the same. All the Christians in the district were being systematically murdered.

The fourth day I was to speak in a little church. The people came, but they were filled with fear and tension. All during the service they were looking at each other, their eyes asking, “Will this one I am sitting beside be the next one killed? Will I be the next one?”

The room was hot and stuffy with insects that came through the screenless windows and swirled around the naked bulbs over the bare wooden benches. I told them a story out of my childhood.

“When I was a little girl, I said, I went to my father and said,
“Daddy, I am afraid that I will never be strong enough to be a martyr for Jesus Christ.”
“Tell me,” said Father,
“When you take a train trip to Amsterdam, when do I give you the money for the ticket?”
“Three weeks before?”
“No Daddy, you give me the money for the ticket just before we get on the train.”
“That’s is right,” my father said,”and so it is with God’s strength.”
“Our Father in heaven knows when you need the strength to be a martyr for Jesus Christ.”
“He will supply all you need just in time.”
My African friends were nodding and smiling.
Suddenly a spirit of joy descended upon that church and the people began singing,
” In the sweet, by and by,
we shall meet on that beautiful shore.”

Later that week, half the congregation of that church was executed.

I heard later that the other half was killed some months ago.

But I must tell you something. I was so happy that the Lord used me to encourage these people, for unlike many of their leaders, I had the word of God. I had been to the Bible and discovered that Jesus said He had not only overcome the world, but to all those who remained faithful to the end, He would give a crown of life.

How can we get ready for the persecution?

First we need to feed on the Word of God, digest it, make it a part of our being. This will mean disciplined Bible study each day as we not only memorize long passages of scripture, but put the principles to work in our lives.
Next we need to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.Not just the Jesus of yesterday, the Jesus of History,
but the life-changing Jesus of today who is still alive
and sitting at the right hand of God.

We must be filled with the Holy Spirit. This is no optional command of the Bible, it is absolutely necessary. Those earthly disciples could never have stood up under the persecution of the Jews and Romans had they not waited for Pentecost. Each of us needs our own personal Pentecost, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We will never be able to stand in the tribulation without it.
In the coming persecution we must be ready to help each other and encourage each other.

But we must not wait until the tribulation comes before starting.
The fruit of the Spirit should be the dominant force of every Christian’s life.
Many are fearful of the coming tribulation, they want to run. I, too, am a little bit afraid when I think that after all my eighty years, including the horrible Nazi concentration camp, that I might have to go through the tribulation also.
But then I read the Bible and I am glad.

When I am weak, then I shall be strong, the Bible says. Betsy and I were prisoners for the Lord, we were so weak, but we got power because the Holy Spirit was on us. That mighty inner strengthening of the Holy Spirit helped us through. No, you will not be strong in yourself when the tribulation comes. Rather, you will be strong in the power of Him who will not forsake you. For seventy-six years I have known the Lord Jesus and not once has He ever left me, or let me down.

Here's an interchange with Jesus, recorded by the prophet Isaiah well before Jesus was born or the New Testament existed:

"Why are your clothes so red, as from treading out the grapes?

"I have trodden the winepress alone. No one was there to help me. In my wrath I have trodden my enemies like grapes. In my fury I trampled my foes. It is their blood you see upon my clothes. For the time has come for me to avenge my people to redeem them from the hands of their oppressors. I looked but no one came to help them; I was amazed and appalled. So I executed vengeance alone; unaided, I meted out judgment. I crushed the heathen nations in my anger and made them stagger and fall to the ground." (Isaiah 63:2-6 TLB)

We live in a world that is growing more demoralized every day at the hands of evil men and women. By hook or by crook (I guess we could say Big Media or Big Tech today) they occupy positions of power in most governments.

The limits to power placed upon Western-style governments by their constitutions are not regarded as limits at all – just niddling annoyances to be worked around with fancy dances and outright lies.

Truth as most of us have known it no longer exists, except as a water boy for the narrative. Government is no longer employed to uphold the law; the law is employed to uphold the government, regardless of how corrupt or evil it may be. We all saw that very clearly during Donald Trump's first term in office, with much of the government straining to destroy him.

When the Wuhan virus emerged, churches were among the first institutions attacked by politicians during their newfound flu-mergency. It took nearly two years and a U.S. Supreme Court ruling affirming that the First Amendment means just what it says: Government has no authority over churches.

Why were churches attacked so quickly and shut down? Because the church, even in its broken and pacified condition, terrifies the political left and the kingdom of darkness they worship.

God frequently describes himself as long-suffering. He is, and for that all of us can be eternally grateful. But He is still the only God in the universe, the only Creator, the only One who sits on the Throne, and the only One who in righteousness executes judgment against those who attack his sovereignty. There is no appeal from His rulings. There is no escape from His justice.

The Apostle Paul – who was certainly in a position to know – emphasized that humanity is in a spiritual war against powers and principalities that are opposed to God's rule (Ephesians 6:12). Paul urged those of us who bear the name of Christ to employ the power we obtained at the Cross to fight against the powers and principalities of evil. Yet, how many of us who have attended churches all our lives know how to do this?

Today, everyone is "woke" over made up, imagined grievances that have emerged from the pit of hell. Yet the pit of hell's greatest fear is that the Christian church will become "woke" to the power against evil that Jesus gave it at the Cross. The powers of darkness quake at the thought of an awakened church, filled with believers who know who they are, in Christ.

Jesus does not "need" us to act. That's why I opened with the passage from Isaiah. But He would very much like us to act, because that would be a sign of maturity; that we didn't just sit in church pews our entire lives, listening to elementary-level messages that we thought we had reserved for the kiddies. Perhaps there are churches out there that would like to become "woke" in a good way, as in a Great Awakening. This might be a good time for churches to take up their own discussion among their local body.

I opened with Isaiah 63 for a reason. Many Christian churches seem to discount God moving in any significant way in our era. Perhaps I misunderstand, but today's churches allow for God to move in the lives of individuals, but I hear very little about God moving among nations. Do churches today even believe that God is able to exert his will over our technological oligarchs?

I think we are much, much closer to divine intervention across the world than many imagine. I think it will occur at the national level. God operates on a much larger chessboard than we can possibly imagine. Our job is to cooperate with Him when He moves. Can Jesus do it himself? Isaiah 63 speaks of both nations and individuals. I don't think He is going to be handing out free passes for those in power to continue worshiping powers and principalities. Remember, Jesus is the Captain of the Angel Armies. If He ends up doing this, it's not going to be for the faint of heart. A functioning Church would never have let things get to this point.

The tragic accident came days after Baldwin's stunt double also fired off bullets on the production's set on Saturday after being told the gun was 'cold', a phrase used to signal to cast and crew the gun is not loaded with live or blank ammunition and is safe to fire for the scene. New details of safety issues on set emerged as the production's armorer was named by a search warrant released on Friday as 24-year-old Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the daughter of legendary Hollywood armorer and firearms consultant Thell Reed, and revealed she was leading firearms on a film set for only the second time. Baldwin accidentally killed Hutchins when he aimed and fired towards a camera operated by the cinematographer, striking her in the chest and director Joel Souza in the shoulder. After firing the shot, Baldwin was heard saying: 'In all my years, I've never been handed a hot gun.' Experts yesterday told DailyMail.com safety on set is usually extremely tight with live bullets never used in filming and it remains unclear why a firearm loaded with live ammunition was on the Rust set at all.

The COVID shot developed by once-obscure German company BioNTech in cooperation with American pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has proven a business success. First to receive Emergency Use Authorization in the United States, the Pfizer shot has become America’s most popular COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 240 million doses administered. Globally, it also ranks number one in terms of usage: As of October 20, more than 405 million people have received Pfizer shot.

No wonder the jab has already become the most lucrative drug of all time, with sales expected to double in 2022.

But the rapid proliferation of the shot, under contracts negotiated between the company and national governments, has been made possible thanks to Pfizer employing a heavy-handed approach that includes “bullying governments” by barring them from “discussing the agreements without Pfizer’s approval,” and demanding “unilateral control to make key decisions and securing an intellectual property waiver for itself,” according to the report released on Tuesday by consumer advocacy group Public Citizen.

While supplying the world’s most-sought after shot, only five out of 73 formalized deals between Pfizer and national governments have been formally published. And even those contracts that were made public contained “significant redactions,” Public Citizen found. The group has been able to obtain several leaked, unredacted contracts that “offer a rare glimpse into the power one pharmaceutical corporation has gained to silence governments, throttle supply, shift risk and maximize profits in the worst public health crisis in a century.”

Public Citizen claims there are several “unfair and abusive” tactics that Pfizer employs in its contracts:

1. The company “reserves the right to silence governments”

The Brazilian government was put in an impossible position by Pfizer insisting on a number of “problematic” terms that Brazil was forced to accept in the midst of the COVID pandemic. The terms included Brazil waiving sovereign immunity, imposing no penalties on Pfizer for late deliveries, and an agreement to resolve disputes under a secret private arbitration under the laws of the United States.

In addition to that, the contract shows that the Brazilian government is prohibited from making “any public announcement concerning the existence, subject matter or terms of [the] Agreement” or even commenting on its relationship with Pfizer without receiving the prior written consent of the company.

A similar provision is included in the Pfizer contract with the European Commission and the U.S. government, but in those cases, the obligation to obtain another party’s agreement to publicly comment on the relation applies to both parties.

US Foods, seeking a Northern Californian with a commercial driver’s license (CDL), is offering a $15,000 sign-up bonus and a $1,000 quarterly bonus to candidates willing to work for $38.50 an hour.

And last June, JK Moving Services said it would guarantee its qualified drivers a salary of at least $100,000 as ‘market demands grow and the pool of qualified candidates shrinks.’

It’s all happening as shipping backlogs delay cripple the supply chain, with Christmas toys and holiday goodies among the items stranded in the Pacific as freightliners queue for weeks to unload cargo.

Truck drivers’ wages have spiked by about 20 percent as companies work to lure newcomers into the industry, Shimoda said.

‘The industry is really using every tool at their disposal to try to get drivers in the door and to get them to stay,’ he said. ‘It's a driver’s world right now. If you have a commercial driver's license, it's worth its weight in gold right now.

‘It's a good time to have a have a CDL.’

But more drivers won’t solve all the transportation industry’s problems at the embattled Ports of Long Angeles and Long Beach, experts said.

Matt Schrap, chief executive of the Harbor Trucking Association, said thousands of empty containers are creating a nightmare for drivers trying to move product.

To top it off, ship operators are charging trucking companies – stuck with storing the equipment on their own lots - a per diem (daily levy) of $40-to-$50 for failing to return them on time, Schrap said.

‘We have to be accountable for them if they're in our possession,’ he said. ‘We just have nowhere to keep them. So that's why they're literally on streets and they’re being graffiti tagged because they're sitting out there.’

A neighborhood in LA has been backed up with delivery trucks throughout the day waiting for the jammed up cargo ships to unload, much to the dismay of residents trying to maneuver around the huge vehicles. 

‘Sometimes they just unload the trailer in the street with no front part of it, and they just leave it there,’ Sonia Cervantes told CBS Los Angeles. 

UCTI Trucking owner Frank Arrieran told the outlet that he’s resorted to keeping the containers on his yard, where space is already at a premium.

“Right now with the ports and everything that’s going on over there, we’re stuck with the containers, having to bring them all to the yard, and we only have so much space,” he said.

Exacerbating the issue is that importers previously stuffed their warehouses before former president Donald Trump's trade tariffs kicked in and have nowhere to store incoming product.

'It is such a complex issue,' Ferreira, an ocean freight expert, said. 'The warehouses are full, but they're filled with the wrong kind of product.'

Big box retailers - who often have their own storage facilities - are working around port backlogs and warehouse issues by chartering their own intercontinental freight ships, he said.

The nation's largest ports shattered more records Monday as massive bottlenecks at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach continue to wreak supply chain havoc.

The Marine Exchange of Southern California reported 100 vessels berthed October 18, topping the previous record of 97 set September 19.

Both figures are markedly higher than during pre-pandemic times, when just 17 ships were anchored.

The man accused of raping a stranger on a metro Philadelphia train full of bystanders who cops say stood and filmed is a Congolese national present in the US illegally, according to a new report. Fiston Ngoy, 35, was arrested and charged in the horrifying attack on Wednesday on board a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) train near the suburb of Upper Darby. Ngoy entered the US on a student visa in 2012, but remained after the visa was terminated in 2015, and was protected from deportation by the immigration system despite multiple convictions Court records show that Ngoy had multiple arrests and two misdemeanor convictions, one for controlled substances and one for sexual abuse. He pleaded guilty to the sex charge in 2017 in Washington DC and was sentenced to 120 days in jail, and was then placed in immigration detention in January 2018. However, Ngoy was never deported, because an immigration judge granted him a 'withholding of removal' in March 2019, after an appeals board found that his sex crime was not a 'serious crime' that made him eligible for removal. 

Fiston Ngoy was arrested for raping and assault a woman aboard a Pennsylvania Transportation Authority train on Wednesday night

 

A 35-year-old man was arrested for raping a woman on board a public train in northeast Philadelphia as other riders watched and did nothing to help the victim, police said. 

Police identified Fiston Ngoy, of Philadelphia, through surveillance footage that caught him sexually assaulting a woman Wednesday night aboard a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) train towards the town of Upper Darby.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said that while there were other people on the train, it was ultimately a SEPTA employee who made the call to 911, which allowed officers to arrest Ngoy on the spot. 

'The assault was observed by a SEPTA employee, who called 911, enabling SEPTA officers to respond immediately and apprehend the suspect in the act,' said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch. 

'There were other people on the train who witnessed this horrific act, and it may have been stopped sooner if a rider called 911. SEPTA urges anyone who observes a crime being committed or any dangerous situation occurring to report it. Anyone witnessing an emergency should immediately call 911.' 

Ngoy was charged with rape and assault.  

My thoughts: I thought I would include this little piece of history for those people who watch FOX News and just are never given the facts. Fair and balanced yes, factual? Not always. You see, the original pledge was written by a minister, a LIBERAL, a socialist who hated what he saw when it came to bigotry and hatred, fueled by the Civil War.  In many ways, I think he tried to make a short statement that every American could honor.  So please understand that George Washington never said "under God" when he recited the pledge, because he never heard of it! Neither did Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Grant or Custer!  America by 1892 was a far different nation than our forefather's founded.

The Pledge of Allegiance A Short History

Francis Bellamy (1855 - 1931), a Baptist minister, wrote the original Pledge in August 1892. He was a Christian Socialist. In his Pledge, he is expressing the ideas of his first cousin, Edward Bellamy, author of the American socialist utopian novels, Looking Backward (1888) and Equality (1897).

Francis Bellamy in his sermons and lectures and Edward Bellamy in his novels and articles described in detail how the middle class could create a planned economy with political, social and economic equality for all. The government would run a peace time economy similar to our present military industrial complex.

The Pledge was published in the September 8th issue of The Youth's Companion, the leading family magazine and the Reader's Digest of its day. Its owner and editor, Daniel Ford, had hired Francis in 1891 as his assistant when Francis was pressured into leaving his baptist church in Boston because of his socialist sermons. As a member of his congregation, Ford had enjoyed Francis's sermons. Ford later founded the liberal and often controversial Ford Hall Forum, located in downtown Boston.

In 1892 Francis Bellamy was also a chairman of a committee of state superintendents of education in the National Education Association. As its chairman, he prepared the program for the public schools' quadricentennial celebration for Columbus Day in 1892. He structured this public school program around a flag raising ceremony and a flag salute - his 'Pledge of Allegiance.'

His original Pledge read as follows: 'I pledge allegiance to my Flag and (to*) the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.' He considered placing the word, 'equality,' in his Pledge, but knew that the state superintendents of education on his committee were against equality for women and African Americans. [ * 'to' added in October, 1892. ]

Dr. Mortimer Adler, American philosopher and last living founder of the Great Books program at Saint John's College, has analyzed these ideas in his book, The Six Great Ideas. He argues that the three great ideas of the American political tradition are 'equality, liberty and justice for all.' 'Justice' mediates between the often conflicting goals of 'liberty' and 'equality.'

In 1923 and 1924 the National Flag Conference, under the 'leadership of the American Legion and the Daughters of the American Revolution, changed the Pledge's words, 'my Flag,' to 'the Flag of the United States of America.' Bellamy disliked this change, but his protest was ignored.

In 1954, Congress after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, 'under God,' to the Pledge. The Pledge was now both a patriotic oath and a public prayer.

Bellamy's granddaughter said he also would have resented this second change. He had been pressured into leaving his church in 1891 because of his socialist sermons. In his retirement in Florida, he stopped attending church because he disliked the racial bigotry he found there.

What follows is Bellamy's own account of some of the thoughts that went through his mind in August, 1892, as he picked the words of his Pledge:

It began as an intensive communing with salient points of our national history, from the Declaration of Independence onwards; with the makings of the Constitution...with the meaning of the Civil War; with the aspiration of the people...

The true reason for allegiance to the Flag is the 'republic for which it stands.' ...And what does that vast thing, the Republic mean? It is the concise political word for the Nation - the One Nation which the Civil War was fought to prove. To make that One Nation idea clear, we must specify that it is indivisible, as Webster and Lincoln used to repeat in their great speeches. And its future?

Just here arose the temptation of the historic slogan of the French Revolution which meant so much to Jefferson and his friends, 'Liberty, equality, fraternity.' No, that would be too fanciful, too many thousands of years off in realization. But we as a nation do stand square on the doctrine of liberty and justice for all...

If the Pledge's historical pattern repeats, its words will be modified during this decade. Below are two possible changes.

Some prolife advocates recite the following slightly revised Pledge: 'I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, born and unborn.'

A few liberals recite a slightly revised version of Bellamy's original Pledge: 'I pledge allegiance to my Flag, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with equality, liberty and justice for all.'
