Are we the Modern Romans? Part 1

Today begins a three - part broadcast on the fate of The United States as compared to the Roman Empire by Bob Barney...

R.e0b78a17d174d3a5078ecf503e7efc79

To Roman citizens living in the glitter of empire — enjoying an explosive frenzy of building, with huge cities, bejeweled with rising marble columns, with paved, pleasant tree-lined avenues and rushing fountains; seeing the victory parades through triumphal arches of yet additional conquests; hearing of the exploits of this or that great general — Rome was impregnable. She was the world — and the world was Rome.
To speculate for one brief moment that all this could soon collapse — that the ravages of wars, taxation, mounting crime, race riots, subversion from within, political assassinations, natural disasters and public apathy would one day bring Rome to utter collapse and ruin, was not only unimaginable to them — it was folly to the heights of idiocy.
And to millions of American and British people today — the thought that America and Britain could suffer a similar fate — though with more modern consequences — seems equally ludicrous.
   But Rome fell.

The Story of Amazing Grace

By Bob Barney from SOURCE

In our second story in the new topic, The Hidden Meaning in Many Songs, Movies and Books, we come to 'Amazing Grace', that so-called "Sunday" gospel classic. The story behind this song is truly amazing indeed.

Many are probably not familiar with the song's history, but the rest of the story behind this tune was that it was written almost two and a half centuries ago in 1772 by an Englishman named John Newton. Knowing the story of John Newton and the journey he went through before writing the hymn will help you to understand the depth of his words and his gratefulness for God's truly amazing grace.

Having lived through a rather unfortunate and troubled childhood (his mother passed away when he was just six years old), Newton spent years fighting against authority, going so far as trying to desert the Royal Navy in his twenties. Later, abandoned by his crew in West Africa, he was forced to be a slave to a slave trader but was eventually rescued. On the return voyage to England, a severe storm hit and almost sank the ship prompting Newton to begin his spiritual conversion as he cried out to God to save them all from the storm.

Ironically, upon his return to England, Newton became a slave ship master, a profession in which he served for several years. Bringing slaves from Africa to England over multiple trips, he admitted to sometimes treating the slaves abhorrently. In 1754, after becoming violently ill on a sea voyage, Newton abandoned the slave trade, and seafaring, altogether, wholeheartedly devoting his life to God's service.

He was ordained as an Anglican priest in 1764 and became quite popular as a preacher and hymn writer, penning some 280 hymns, among them the great "Amazing Grace," which first appeared in the Olney Hymns, printed by Newton and poet/fellow writer William Cowper. It was later set to the popular tune NEW BRITAIN in 1835 by William Walker.

In later years, Newton fought alongside William Wilberforce, leader of the parliamentary campaign to abolish the African slave trade. He described the horrors of the slave trade in a tract he wrote supporting the campaign and lived to see the British Passage of the Slave Trade Act 1807.

And now, we see the lyrics such as these by Newton...

I once was lost,
but now am found,
Was blind
but now I see.

and

Through many dangers, toils, and snares
I have already come.
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

...carry a much deeper meaning than a sinner's mere gratitude. Close to death at various times and blind to the reality of and for others, Newton would most assuredly not have written "Amazing Grace" if not for his tumultuous past. And many of us would then be without these lovely words that so aptly describe our own relationship with Christ and our reliance on God's grace in our lives:

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Modern interpretation:

Those who have read Harriet Beecher Stowe's classic African American novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin, may remember that Tom sings three verses of "Amazing Grace," including one verse not written by Newton which is now traditionally sung as the final verse:

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise,
Then when we first begun.

There is a movie named, "Newton's Grace" that tells the story of the man.  It is a very good biographical movie that although a low budget film, will find you truly admiring this man of God.

 John Newton's tombstone reads:

"John Newton, once an infidel and libertine, a servant of slaves in Africa, was, by the rich mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, preserved, restored, pardoned, and appointed to preach the faith he had long labored to destroy!" "By the grace of God, I am what I am!" 1 Corinthians 15:10

IRS data proves Trump tax cuts benefited middle, working-class Americans most

More proof (see My Story below ~ Why I Support Trump) that Trump helped bring the poor and the working middle-class up, while mainstream Republican and Democrat policies really only helped very wealthy people.

President Biden and congressional Democrats’ Build Back Better (BBB) Act is now in the hands of the Senate. That legislative body’s 50-50 partisan split will undoubtedly make the bill’s passage difficult.

In order for BBB to become law, Democratic Senate leadership will need to convince moderates such as Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) that the legislation’s $2.4 trillion price tag can be offset by expanding the IRS and its enforcement efforts while imposing substantial tax reform measures.

Congressional Democrats have argued that one of the best ways to pay for the legislation is to raise taxes on wealthy households, which, according to many on the left, have benefited disproportionately and unfairly from the 2017 tax reform lawpassed by Republicans and signed by former President Trump. The latest data, however, proves that this claim is pure mythology.

Income data published by the IRS clearly show that on average all income brackets benefited substantially from the Republicans’ tax reform law, with the biggest beneficiaries being working and middle-income filers, not the top 1 percent, as so many Democrats have argued.

A careful analysis of the IRS tax data, one that includes the effects of tax credits and other reforms to the tax code, shows that filers with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $15,000 to $50,000 enjoyed an average tax cut of 16 percent to 26 percent in 2018, the first year Republicans’ Tax Cuts and Jobs Act went into effect and the most recent year for which data is available.

Filers who earned $50,000 to $100,000 received a tax break of about 15 percent to 17 percent, and those earning $100,000 to $500,000 in adjusted gross income saw their personal income taxes cut by around 11 percent to 13 percent.

By comparison, no income group with an AGI of at least $500,000 received an average tax cut exceeding 9 percent, and the average tax cut for brackets starting at $1 million was less than 6 percent. (For more detailed data, see my table published here.)

That means most middle-income and working-class earners enjoyed a tax cut that was at least double the size of tax cuts received by households earning $1 million or more.

Tucker Carlson- North Korea like Coup- Our record Inflation was Planned!

Foreword by Bob Barney:  One of the richest men I have dealt with in business (his published net worth was over $500 million) told me in 1988 that the really rich people NEVER vote Republican, as they are for small business people and keep inflation low. Democrats know that inflation is great for their supporters - The Ultra Rich!   They make money on inflation. Buy low, sell high, when inflation hits.  Since personal spending for these people are less than .0001% of their fortune, inflation never cost them much, but makes them far richer. Tucker makes the same point.  This entire economy was not the result of stupid senile people, but pinned by the Democrats in their coup of our freedom!

Incredible hidden Bible messages embedded in countless hit songs

Is it possible that thousands of hit songs are broadcasting a secret message of which even the songwriters may be unaware?

And is it possible those hidden messages are actually coming from a source that many artists in the music industry would gladly dismiss as highly unlikely – from God Himself in heaven?

Elvis Presley (U.S. Army photo)

Elvis Presley (U.S. Army photo)

A brand-new book that has already hit the #1 spot in several Amazon best-seller listsis making the case that the biggest radio hits of all time – from Adele to the Beatles and from Frank Sinatra to Led Zeppelin – are all voicing a much higher meaning than what even the singers themselves intended or recognize, and that meaning is directly from the Bible.

"Millions of people don't realize that no matter what song they're listening to, the voice of God is present and He's voicing messages that come directly from Scripture," says Joe Kovacs, author of "Reaching God Speed: Unlocking the Secret Broadcast Revealing the Mystery of Everything."

"Musicians and songwriters speak constantly about being inspired to write a certain lyric or rhyme. Words such as inspire and inspiration literally mean having the spirit or breath of God being blown into someone. Even the dictionary states 'the metaphor is a powerful one, with the very breath of a divine or supernatural force asserted as being at work.' But most of these writers have little clue they've been scripting tunes with divine messages authored by the Word of God."

In "Reaching God Speed," Kovacs, known for his best-selling "Shocked by the Bible" series, unlocks the spirit meaning of everything in our physical world, as he begins by decoding scores of everyone's favorite songs, bringing to light clear messages from the Creator that many people have never realized were embedded.

"The secrets become revealed when we make the jump from using our five physical senses, or 'human speed,' to applying the very Spirit of God Himself, reaching what I call 'God speed,'" says Kovacs.

The Tramp on the Street

BY BOB BARNEY

Almost 2,000 years ago, the very God who made the universe, earth, and life on this earth was horribly murdered by His creation, after by a miracle He became a human being, sent to this earth from heaven to find a way around mankind's fate.  We know the story, and the purpose of redemption for our sins is not the point of this article.  There is another message in the death of Jesus, and more human one.  In one of his many lessons which we read in Matthew 25 starting on verse 31-Jesus said, “The Son of Man will come again in his great glory, with all his angels. He will be King and sit on his great throne. 32All the nations of the world will be gathered before him, and he will separate them into two groups as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33The Son of Man will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34“Then the King will say to the people on his right, ‘Come, my Father has given you his blessing. Receive the kingdom God has prepared for you since the world was made. 35I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you invited me into your house. 36I was without clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37“Then the good people will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and give you food, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you alone and away from home and invite you into our house? When did we see you without clothes and give you something to wear? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and care for you?’

40“Then the King will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me.’

41“Then the King will say to those on his left, ‘Go away from me. You will be punished. Go into the fire that burns forever that was prepared for the devil and his angels. 42I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink. 43I was alone and away from home, and you did not invite me into your house. I was without clothes, and you gave me nothing to wear. I was sick and in prison, and you did not care for me.’

44“Then those people will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or alone and away from home or without clothes or sick or in prison? When did we see these things and not help you?’
45“Then the King will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, anything you refused to do for even the least of my people here, you refused to do for me.’

46“These people will go off to be punished forever, but the good people will go to live forever.”

Jesus is telling us by this story to always look out for those who haven't had the choices or the luxuries that we have had.  Help those in need, and give to those who ask of you.  Jesus was aware of the needy then, as God, he knows now.  An act of kindness to a stranger who needs your help will go a long way in heaven.  Remember that tramp you see on the street may be experiencing the same hatred that Jesus suffered. That bum or homeless vet was once young, once had a mother who loved them, and once had maybe what you have today. The following are lyrics written by Hank Williams, that aptly remind us of this, for our day!

A Tramp on the street: (Hank Williams)

Only a tramp was Lazarus sad fate
He who lay down at the rich man's gate
He begged for some crumbs from the rich man to eat
But they left him to die like a tramp on the street.
He was some mother's darlin', he was some mother's son
Once he was fair and once he was young
Some mother once rocked him, her darlin' to sleep
But they left him to die like a tramp on the street.
Jesus, He died on Calvary's tree
Shed His life's blood for you and for me
They pierced His side, His hands and His feet
And they left Him to die like a tramp on the street.
He was Mary's own darlin', he was God's chosen Son
Once He was fair and once He was young
Mary, she rocked Him, her darlin' to sleep
But they left Him to die like a tramp on the street.
If Jesus should come and knock on your door
For a place to come in, or bread from your store
Would you welcome Him in, or turn Him away
Then the God's would deny you on the Great Judgement Day.
Only a tramp was Lazarus sad fate

The Pledge of Allegiance A Short History

My thoughts: I thought I would include this little piece of history for those people who watch FOX News and just are never given the facts. Fair and balanced yes, factual? Not always. You see, the original pledge was written by a minister, a LIBERAL, a socialist who hated what he saw when it came to bigotry and hatred, fueled by the Civil War.  In many ways, I think he tried to make a short statement that every American could honor.  So please understand that George Washington never said "under God" when he recited the pledge, because he never heard of it! Neither did Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Grant or Custer!  America by 1892 was a far different nation than our forefather's founded.

The Pledge of Allegiance A Short History

by Dr. John W. Baer

Copyright 1992 by Dr. John W. Baer

Francis Bellamy (1855 - 1931), a Baptist minister, wrote the original Pledge in August 1892. He was a Christian Socialist. In his Pledge, he is expressing the ideas of his first cousin, Edward Bellamy, author of the American socialist utopian novels, Looking Backward (1888) and Equality (1897).

Francis Bellamy in his sermons and lectures and Edward Bellamy in his novels and articles described in detail how the middle class could create a planned economy with political, social and economic equality for all. The government would run a peace time economy similar to our present military industrial complex.

The Pledge was published in the September 8th issue of The Youth's Companion, the leading family magazine and the Reader's Digest of its day. Its owner and editor, Daniel Ford, had hired Francis in 1891 as his assistant when Francis was pressured into leaving his baptist church in Boston because of his socialist sermons. As a member of his congregation, Ford had enjoyed Francis's sermons. Ford later founded the liberal and often controversial Ford Hall Forum, located in downtown Boston.

In 1892 Francis Bellamy was also a chairman of a committee of state superintendents of education in the National Education Association. As its chairman, he prepared the program for the public schools' quadricentennial celebration for Columbus Day in 1892. He structured this public school program around a flag raising ceremony and a flag salute - his 'Pledge of Allegiance.'

His original Pledge read as follows: 'I pledge allegiance to my Flag and (to*) the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.' He considered placing the word, 'equality,' in his Pledge, but knew that the state superintendents of education on his committee were against equality for women and African Americans. [ * 'to' added in October, 1892. ]

Dr. Mortimer Adler, American philosopher and last living founder of the Great Books program at Saint John's College, has analyzed these ideas in his book, The Six Great Ideas. He argues that the three great ideas of the American political tradition are 'equality, liberty and justice for all.' 'Justice' mediates between the often conflicting goals of 'liberty' and 'equality.'

In 1923 and 1924 the National Flag Conference, under the 'leadership of the American Legion and the Daughters of the American Revolution, changed the Pledge's words, 'my Flag,' to 'the Flag of the United States of America.' Bellamy disliked this change, but his protest was ignored.

In 1954, Congress after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, 'under God,' to the Pledge. The Pledge was now both a patriotic oath and a public prayer.

Bellamy's granddaughter said he also would have resented this second change. He had been pressured into leaving his church in 1891 because of his socialist sermons. In his retirement in Florida, he stopped attending church because he disliked the racial bigotry he found there.

What follows is Bellamy's own account of some of the thoughts that went through his mind in August, 1892, as he picked the words of his Pledge:

It began as an intensive communing with salient points of our national history, from the Declaration of Independence onwards; with the makings of the Constitution...with the meaning of the Civil War; with the aspiration of the people...

The true reason for allegiance to the Flag is the 'republic for which it stands.' ...And what does that vast thing, the Republic mean? It is the concise political word for the Nation - the One Nation which the Civil War was fought to prove. To make that One Nation idea clear, we must specify that it is indivisible, as Webster and Lincoln used to repeat in their great speeches. And its future?

Just here arose the temptation of the historic slogan of the French Revolution which meant so much to Jefferson and his friends, 'Liberty, equality, fraternity.' No, that would be too fanciful, too many thousands of years off in realization. But we as a nation do stand square on the doctrine of liberty and justice for all...

If the Pledge's historical pattern repeats, its words will be modified during this decade. Below are two possible changes.

Some prolife advocates recite the following slightly revised Pledge: 'I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, born and unborn.'

A few liberals recite a slightly revised version of Bellamy's original Pledge: 'I pledge allegiance to my Flag, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with equality, liberty and justice for all.'

MORE CORONA PROOFS of FRAUD: 2020 death rates the same as 2019 and Before

Bob Barney (sourced quotes from WND.com)

Yet another report from a senior Johns Hopkins lecturer's analysis concludes that the coronavirus had no overall effect on the total number of deaths in the United States. Genevieve Briand, a longtime professor of economics and statistics, was overrules by the hospital and was forced to withdraw her fact based report.  However, the CDC statistics she sites proves her conclusions.  Almost all of the seniors who died from hospital called COVID, would have died from other causes!  How did she know this, because the same number of seniors died in 2019 as 2020, but with other causes, while in 2020, the same number died, but all with COVID 19 causes.  We are to believe that seniors stopped dying of cancer, heart disease, strokes, injuries and a host of other causes of death that seemed to disappear in 2020!

It is unbelievable just how many lies our leaders are feeding us, and how gullible the American people have become. Sheeple is the best word for the American citizen of today. Americans are ready to throw away their liberties, fortunes and sanity for a lie, because fear rules the day, not common sense. Our forefathers are rolling in their graves, and so are the millions who died to defend our way of life.

Briand, who teaches Microeconomic Theory, Statistics and Econometrics, argued the significance of COVID-19 on U.S. deaths can be fully understood only through comparison to the number of total deaths in the country.

The CDC data showed there were 1.7 million total deaths in the United States between mid-March and mid-September, of which 200,000 are COVID-19-related. Briand examined the total deaths in each age group and the cause of death in her analysis.

"Surprisingly, the deaths of older people stayed the same before and after COVID-19," she found, according to the News-Letter report. "Since COVID-19 mainly affects the elderly, experts expected an increase in the percentage of deaths in older age groups," the report said.

But no such increase was seen in the CDC data.

"These data analyses suggest that in contrast to most people's assumptions, the number of deaths by COVID-19 is not alarming. In fact, it has relatively no effect on deaths in the United States," the report said. "This comes as a shock to many people. How is it that the data lie so far from our perception?"

The editor's note posted Friday explained that the News-Letter is an editorially and financially independent, student-run publication and its content is not endorsed by the university or the School of Medicine.

1.jpgBriand's study, the News-Letter's article and its retraction have sparked considerable debate on social media amid controversy over how COVID deaths are determined, the reliability of government data and the complexities of statistical analysis.

Overall, the CDC says, just 6% of the people counted as COVID-19 deaths died of COVID-19 alone. Those who died of coronavirus, according to the CDC, had an average of 2.6 comorbidities, meaning more than two chronic diseases along with COVID-19.

The CDC estimates a 99.997% survival rate for those from birth to age 19 who contract COVID-19. It's 99.98% for ages 20-49, 99.5% for 50-69 and 94.6% for those over 70.

Briand found in her analysis that there naturally was a sudden increase in deaths early in 2020 compared to previous years that was due to COVID-19.

But she also noticed a significant decrease in deaths due to heart disease and all other causes.

"This suggests, according to Briand, that the COVID-19 death toll is misleading," the report said. "Briand believes that deaths due to heart diseases, respiratory diseases, influenza and pneumonia may instead be recategorized as being due to COVID-19."

The Johns Hopkins News-Letter article noted the CDC classifies all deaths that are related to COVID-19 simply as COVID-19 deaths.

"Even patients dying from other underlying diseases but are infected with COVID-19 count as COVID-19 deaths."

It's likely "the main explanation as to why COVID-19 deaths drastically increased while deaths by all other diseases experienced a significant decrease."

"All of this points to no evidence that COVID-19 created any excess deaths," Briand concluded. "Total death numbers are not above normal death numbers. We found no evidence to the contrary."

See Briand's webinar:

Briand was asked by the Johns Hopkins News-Letter to address the question of whether COVID-19 deaths can be called misleading since the infection might have exacerbated and even led to deaths by other underlying diseases.

She said that if the COVID-19 death toll "was not misleading at all, what we should have observed is an increased number of heart attacks and increased COVID-19 numbers."

"But a decreased number of heart attacks and all the other death causes doesn't give us a choice but to point to some misclassification," Briand replied.

The News-Letter clarified: "In other words, the effect of COVID-19 on deaths in the U.S. is considered problematic only when it increases the total number of deaths or the true death burden by a significant amount in addition to the expected deaths by other causes."

"Since the crude number of total deaths by all causes before and after COVID-19 has stayed the same, one can hardly say, in Briand’s view, that COVID-19 deaths are concerning."

Briand emphasized in the interview that while COVID-19 is a serious national and global problem, people should not forget about the tragic loss of lives from other causes.

America you are now a slave to the government you were to rule over. Your rights have been stripped away, your elected president that most of you voted for and who won in a landslide, has been ousted in a Deep State coup, and soon you will be forced to take vaccines, containing aborted babies, and sent to prison camps if you fail to comply.  If you still don't take up arms against tyranny, you deserve whatever happens to you.  Oh, if you want to know what's is coming for you?  Then read our future, predicted by OUR GOD, 3,000 years ago HERE

Who Said This?

By Bob Barney

Trolling Facebook, I often laugh at the NEVER TRUMPERS who love to poke fun of the stupidity of Donald Trump.  Yet the stupid guy, turned the smartest guy in the world Obama's economy around in 1 week!  But just to keep things even who said the following dumb things. All were either presidents, or would be pretenders to the throne...

1

1). I am a Jelly Donut (when speaking German to a Berlin Crowd)

2.) She announced that her secretary of education would have to be approved first by a child “trans person.”

3.) "Who is that?" Looking at a bust of George Washington... He was Veep at the time.

4.) "I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go."  Running 4 Prez

5.). "A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States—Barack America!"

6.) “Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

7.) Since we know only Trump talked dirty in the WH, who said this? "I want loyalty! I want him to kiss my ass in Macy’s window at high noon and tell me it smells like roses. I want his pecker in my pocket.”

8.) What Prez “took a crap, then shaved and showered, all the while continuing his conversation as though what he was doing was the most normal thing in the world.”

9. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." and "That depends on what the meaning of 'is' is."

10.) "I've looked on a lot of women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times."

11.) “I don’t know what the fuck to do about Vietnam.”

12.) "You know, I always wondered about that taping equipment but I'm damn glad we have it, aren't you?"

13.) "Who is going to find out? These women are trash. Nobody's going to believe them."

14.) "I'm not going to have some reporters pawing through our papers. We are the president."

15.)   "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt."

16.) "R-S-P-E-C-T." --flubbing the spelling of Aretha Franklin's famous song "Respect"

17.) "But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been bred in our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society."

18.) "There's just no such thing as truth when it comes to him. He just says whatever sounds good and worries about it after the election."
Presidential candidate Bill Clinton describing his opponent, George Bush (Quoted in the American Spectator, 10/28/92)

19.) "the purpose of government is to rein in the rights of the people"

20.) “I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races … I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races from living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be a position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.”

Feast of Tabernacles DAY 7----Are we living in the End Times? In songs....

Bob Barney First Published March 2009

This amazing video, recently made for a 44 year old song still rings as true today, if not more so than it did when it was first made. The Plain Truth is all about today's news and one cannot understand the news if we do not understand that there is a God, and that God has told us what to watch out for. If you do not read anything else in your life, read Matthew 24, the entire chapter! God has warned us and it is up to us to ignore HIS word or obey it.

God gives us the choice. He tells us to choose life! He wants us to live, but we must listen to HIS voice. God's voice is not just found in your Bible. You can also find it everywhere you look, if you open your eyes and look for it. Satan may be alive and well on planet earth, BUT GOD IS HERE TOO! God is warning us and talking to us daily. Most just do not pay attention.

General MacArthur, on the deck of the USS Missouri warned us. He said that if we do not find a better way than war, mankind's greatest sin, then "Armageddon will be at our door!" Those words, spoken by the general were from God Almighty!  Listen to much of the music, even rock n roll songs. Yes, the Devil gets his message out, and he is THE GOD OF THIS WORLD, but GOD gets HIS message out too!

When Barry McGuire sang this song, he wasn't a Christian, but he is today! In fact, I believe he is now a minister.

When Paul Simon wrote "Sounds of Silence" I am sure he did not understand that God was reaching out to us through his words in the song.  He probably did not know that the words were the words of Isaiah that "we hear but do not perceive". The song says:
"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence ........
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening "

Now compare that to: Matthew 13:14 -""In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, 'YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND; YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;"

The Youngbloods have a line in their biggest hit, "when the one that left us here, returns for us at last." Who do you think they are singing about?

Paul Simon's "Mother and Child" reunion has many meanings for many people. To Paul himself, a secular person, he probably didn't understand the words himself! Read the words to that song and see if God has a message in there. Who is the spokesman in "bridge over troubled water?" It isn't a drug dealer!

God is talking to us. In songs, movies and in THE NEWS! The Plain Truth is trying to show you what God is doing today, by explaining the Plain Truth behind today's news. Jesus is coming. I do not know when. I do know to keep looking for the signs... Listen and watch the video below....

The Wings of a Dove

DovePrior to Jesus’s baptism, the dove was seen sporadically throughout the Old Testament. Each reference to the dove in Scripture had symbolic meaning even then and would be eventually fulfilled in the greater context of Jesus’s life and ministry, beginning with His baptism and continuing through the movement of the Holy Spirit, which is actually the essence of what God is made of!  We are flesh and blood; God is the Holy Spirit. The Jewish people would have known and understood the symbolism of the dove from Old Testament stories and teachings. For the Spirit to descend upon Jesus in the form of a dove at His baptism was a public display of Christ’s divinity, a confirmation of His anointing, and a connection between His ministry and previous symbols of the dove (Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Luke 3:22, John 1:32).

Furthermore, in Matthew, Mark, and Luke’s gospel, it is written that immediately following Jesus’s emergence from the water and descendance of the Holy Spirit, the voice of God the Father came from the heavens saying, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased” (Luke 3:22).

Jesus would fulfill much of the symbolism of the dove in early Scripture. He was:

In John’s gospel, John the Baptist proclaimed the coming of the Messiah. “He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’ I myself have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God” (John 1:33-34).

During the last days of the great flood, which had covered the surface of the earth, it is written that Noah sent a dove to search for dry land (Genesis 8:8-9). On several occasions, the dove returned to the ark, signifying that the waters had not yet receded. Finally, on a separate flight, the dove returned to the ark with a “freshly picked olive leaf” (Genesis 8:11) and then, after seven days, not at all (Genesis 8:12). It was then that Noah knew the waters had abated from the earth, and the ark would soon come to rest as on dry land. From then on, the dove was regarded as a harbinger of peace and the symbol of hope and new life. It was also the symbol of God's Spirit send down to Noah as a sign of love.

The second piece of symbolism that would eventually find fulfillment in the life of Jesus can be seen in the sacrificial system of the Mosaic law, where doves and turtledoves were the only birds that could be offered as acceptable sacrifices because of their perceived purity. (Genesis 15:9, Leviticus 12:6, Luke 2:24)

It is also worth mentioning that doves and turtledoves were often purchased and used by those who could not afford one of the more expensive offerings, such as a spotless lamb. Even then, God had made provisions for everyone, regardless of their wealth or status, to bring their best offerings before the Lord (Leviticus 5:7).

Knowing the heart of God in this matter helps explain why Jesus was later so infuriated by the money changers in the temple (Matthew 21:12-13, Mark 11:15-18, Luke 19:45-48, John 2:13-21). Prior to His cleansing of the temple, the merchants and money changers had been taking advantage of the poor and overcharging for ritual sacrifices. In doing so, there were making it difficult for God-followers to buy sacrifices and come before the Lord (Matthew 21:12). This was something Jesus would not tolerate!(SOURCE:)

The Song, Wings of a Dove: written by Bob Ferguson in 1958.

On the wings of a snow-white dove He sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above; On the wings of a dove
When Noah has drifted on the flood many days
He searched for land in various ways
Troubles he had some but wasn't forgotten
God sent him his love on the wings of a dove

On the wings of a snow-white dove He sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above; On the wings of a dove

When Jesus went down to the river that day
There, he was baptized in the usual way
And when it was done; God blessed His son
He sent down His love; On the wings of a dove

On the wings of a snow-white dove God sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above; On the wings of a dove

When troubles surround us, when evils come
The body grows weak; The spirit grows numb
When these things beset us, God doesn't forget us
He sends us His love on the wings of a dove

On the wings of a snow-white dove God sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above; On the wings of a dove

God's Meanings, in Songs, Movies and everyday life

But the ending always comes at last
Endings always come too fast
They come too fast But they pass too slow

It's a fine line between the darkness and the dawn
They say in the darkest night, there's a light beyond

Death.... A sobering thought, but a topic that concerns everyone alive.  For the most part, everyone's life is going to end badly. I'm not being funny or sarcastic, but The Plain Truth is that most deaths are not pretty, they tend to be dramatic to everyone around the event.  Even when a 100 year old grandmother dies, her entire living family grieves, especially if that death ended in painful agony for weeks, even months.

This idea first came to me when my father died, some 21 years ago.  I was not aware until the day I showed up at the hospital back home in Connecticut that he was going to die in just a few days.  I was shocked to find this out.  However, the next five or six days were pure agony for me.  To watch my father die was horrifying.  Suffering with him at night, as he fought to live.  That week seemed like eternity to me.  Dying may come too quickly in our life, but the act of dying seems to go on and on in agony....

The song "All I know," had already been a favorite to me, as a love song, but after dad's death, it had much more meaning to me.  The agony our lives, which goes by so swiftly and we become old before we realize it. We all have witnesses watching our life zoom by so quickly, then to find it ends terribly, in a slow agonizing death. In my case, I pray my death comes quickly, but odds are it will not.  Most likely I like most,  will have to endure such an end, or endure our loved ones go through the process.  A sad thought.

God knows the sting of death, and God also knows that death is an enemy of mankind.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians about death and the only hope for mankind.... The resurrection of the dead, WHEN JESUS COMES!

1 For 15:45---The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.”But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit. 46. What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. 47 Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. 48 Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. 49 Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be likei the heavenly man.

50 What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 53For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

54Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,j this Scripture will be fulfilled:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.k

55O death, where is your victory?

O death, where is your sting?l

56For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Sad as death is, Christ came and died for our sins, and to give us eternal life!  Yes the bitterness of death is coming, but sweet victory follows! The songs says: "It's a fine line between the darkness and the dawn - They say in the darkest night, there's a light beyond."   Yes, it's the darkest before the coming of the sun in the morning, as it will the darkest for us when we die, but the light of Christ will shine again in our eyes!   Come dear Jesus! We need you to rule this earth.
