Church changes Christmas carol lyrics to recognize 'queer and questioning'

'Flipping love my church' says trainee priest

By WND Staff

A church in the United Kingdom has decided to take Jesus and the Nativity out of Christmas, instead promoting a message for the "queer and questioning."

Summit News explains it is All Saints with Holy Trinity Church in Loughborough and it held a service Monday.

It was in a social media statement that trainee priest Rachael Brind-Surch boasted of alterations made to the traditional "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen."

"Flipping love my church," claimed Brind-Surch, as the first verse of the hymn was revealed to be: "God rest you, queer and questioning, your anxious hearts be still, Believe that you are deeply known and part of God's good will For all to live as one in peace the global dream fulfilled. O tidings of comfort and joy…"

A unique piece by Ludwig van Beethoven is finally set to be returned to the heirs of its original owners.

The manuscript ended up in the archives of the Moravian Museum in the Czech city of Brno to protect it from being stolen by the Nazis, as the Petscheks, once the richest family in pre-World War II Czechoslovakia, fled the country to escape the Holocaust.

The museum kept the autograph of the 4th movement of the string quartet in B-flat Major, op. 130 — a highly valued late quartet by the German composer — in its collections for more than 80 years.

Now, a local restitution law on the property stolen by the Nazis is making the return possible.

For the first time, the Moravian Museum curators have put the score on display for five days before it is set to be handed over to the Petschek family.

"The item itself has a fascinating collecting story," says curator Simona Sindlarova. "The whole story reflects the history of Central Europe in the last 200 years."

High-stakes lie to Nazis works, saves the manuscript

Details about how the family, whose wealth came mainly from the mining industry and business in the banking sector, acquired the piece after the Great War are unknown.

Beethoven composed the six-movement quartet in 1825-26, as part of his work on a series of late quartets commissioned by Russian Prince Nicholas Galitzin.

It premiered in March 1826 in Vienna's Musikverein.

“They’re Losing Their Christian Values. They’re Losing Their Families. It Is No Longer the America We Knew” – International Arms Dealer Viktor Bout Gives First Interview Since His Release from US Prison (VIDEO)

If it wasn't embarrassing and threatening enough to have Joe the Creeper swap Viktor out for a doper basketball player, what do you know? Even The Merchant of Death from the bowels of a federal prison in Illinois has had a spot-on opinion about America's spiritual health.

“They’re losing their Christian values. They’re losing their families. They’re losing literally their country. It is not anymore the same country we knew America used to be, the model for the entire world and lead and be an example. Like they say, you know, a sparkling town on a hill.”

Victor Bout gave his first interview on Saturday since his release from prison in the US.

By Jim Hoft of The Gateway Pundit

On Friday, Joe Biden traded the “Merchant of Death” for pot-smoking America-hating WNBA star Brittney Griner.

WNBA star Brittney Griner was found guilty of drug smuggling with criminal intent in a Russian court back in August. Russian prosecutors pushed for a sentence of 9.5 years in a penal colony.

Russia released Brittney in exchange for international arms dealer Viktor Bout.

Vikor Bout, known as the “merchant of death,” is a former Soviet military officer, who was serving a 25-year prison sentence in the United States on charges of conspiring to kill Americans, acquire and export anti-aircraft missiles, and provide material support to a terrorist organization. Bout has maintained he is innocent – via CNN.

Bout armed terrorist groups in some of the most violent conflicts in the world.

On Saturday Viktor Bout sat down with Maria Butina from Russia Today in his first interview since his release from US prison.

Viktor Bout told RT: “They’re losing their Christian values. They’re losing their families. They’re losing literally their country. It is not anymore the same country we knew America used to be, the model for the entire world and lead and be an example. Like they say, you know, a sparkling town on a hill.”

'The purpose of my life': 14-year-old Kenosha boy supports autism through painting

“Then one day…. he picked up some paint brushes and started painting and we found out he really liked it, so we just kind of helped him grow with it,” she added.

KENOSHA, Wis. — Chace Wilson is a self-taught, 14-year-old artist.

The Kenosha teen learned to paint by watching videos on YouTube with iconic artists like Bob Ross.

Ross was known for his inspiring and cheerful quotes and his art lessons on PBS. One of those quotes was “find freedom on this canvas,” and that’s exactly what Chace Wilson has done.

“It’s probably the purpose of my life,” said Chace Wilson, who was diagnosed with autism at 3.

“He’s tried a lot of things through-out his life to see if he liked them and nothing’s ever stuck,” said Chace’s mother, Lisa Wilson.

“Then one day…. he picked up some paint brushes and started painting and we found out he really liked it, so we just kind of helped him grow with it,” she added.

Chace Wilson has only been painting for two years, but he’s already had his own art show in downtown Milwaukee.

Proceeds from the show went to Island of Brilliance, a nonprofit that supports young people with autism.

Chace’s paintings are also sold on Facebook for $10 each, when his mom has time to post them. He uses that money for art supplies.

“Once you put the paint on the canvas, you can just go away and complete the whole thing...you have to sign it at the end,” Chace Wilson explained.

His biggest fan is his brother, Connor, who is Chace’s fraternal twin.

Connor is not on the autism spectrum. It’s obvious to anyone who meets the twins that they have an unspoken bond.

“I can’t leave him. I don’t know, I don’t know how to explain it,” said Connor Wilson.

He said he thinks his twin is a great artist, and he supports him in every way. He said Chace watches out for him too, intuitively knowing when he needs help, even if they aren’t together.

Painting may be Chace Wilson’s purpose, but his family is his anchor.

Five electricity substations in Oregon and Washington are attacked days after two in North Carolina

America sleeps while under attack

Authorities confirm five attacks at electricity substations in Washington and Oregon last

At least five attacks at electricity substations in the Pacific Northwest have been reported in recent weeks to the FBI. The incidents come to light following a deliberate attack last week in Moore County, North Carolina that left tens of thousands of people without power for days as seasonal temperatures fall. In Washington state and Oregon, spokespeople for several energy companies - Puget Sound Energy, the Cowlitz County Public Utilities District, and Bonneville Power Administration - have confirmed that attacks occurred in November.

Here Comes a Rare and Wonderful Astronomical Event in the Night Sky of December 7th ~ The Occultation of Mars (Live Link to Watch)

The moon will pass directly in front of Mars, blocking it from view. This event, called an occultation —from a Latin word meaning “hidden”—happens once or twice per year somewhere on Earth.

The moon will turn full as Mars arrives at opposition to the sun, resulting in an almost perfect alignment in space of the sun, Earth, moon and Mars.

Mars at opposition will meet up with the full moon next week (Dec. 7). Here's how to see it

Every once in a while, something will appear in the sky that will attract the attention of even those who normally don't bother looking up.

It's likely to be that way in the evening hours of Wednesday (Dec. 7) when the full moon will appear in very close proximity to the now-brilliant planet Mars. In fact, the moon will turn full at 11:08 p.m. EST (0408 GMT on Dec. 8) followed by Mars arriving at opposition to the sun just 87 minutes later. This will result in an almost perfect alignment in space of the sun, Earth, moon and Mars.

People, who are unaware or have no advance notice, will almost certainly wonder, as they cast a casual glance toward our nearest neighbor in space on this first Wednesday in December, just what is that "bright orange-yellow light"? Sometimes, such occasions bring with them a sudden rash of phone calls to radio and television stations, local planetariums, weather offices and police precincts. Not a few of these calls excitedly inquire about "the mysterious UFO" that's closely hovering in the vicinity of our natural satellite!

If you don't live in any of the locations listed below that will provide a good chance to see the event in person, you're in luck: The Virtual Telescope Project will be hosting a livestream of Mars at opposition(opens in new tab) beginning at 11:00 p.m. EST on Dec. 7 (0400 GMT on Dec. 8).

Smoking one cigarette a day and a regular tot of whisky: How couple stayed married for 86 years

An Article from over 10 years ago.....

A couple celebrated their 86th wedding anniversary yesterday and offered some words of advice.

Karam Chand, 106, who enjoys a daily cigarette and a regular tot of whisky, said: ‘Eat and drink what you want, but in moderation.’ The former mill worker added: ‘I have never held back from enjoying my life.’

While his 99-year-old wife Kartari is looking forward to getting her telegram from the Queen next year, she is conscious of the need to stay fit and healthy.

Happily ever after: Karam and Kartari Chand married in India in 1925 and moved to Britain in the Sixties

She added: 'We have always eaten good wholesome food, there's nothing artificial in our diet but things like ghee (clarified butter), milk and fresh yogurt are what we like.

'We know that being married for 86 years is a blessing, but equally we will be ready to go when it's time, it's all up to the will of God, but we really have lived a good life.'

The couple from Bradford, West Yorkshire, have eight children, 27 grandchildren and  23 great-grandchildren.

They married in India in 1925 and moved to Britain in the Sixties.

It is thought the couple could be the UK's longest married husband and wife.

Karam, who was born in a small rural village in northern India in 1905 kept with local custom of the time and married at a young age.

Mauna Loa eruption: Hawaii Big Island volcano erupting first time in 38 years as ash fall warnings issued

Mauna Loa, the world’s largest active volcano located in Hawaii, began erupting late Sunday night, prompting officials to issue a warning to residents who live in the surrounding area of possible lava flow.

Hawaii officials issued an emergency alert around 11:30 p.m. local time on Sunday, warning that a volcanic eruption had been detected inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park near the summit caldera of Mauna Loa. Officials warned the eruption could cause volcanic gas and ash to be carried by the winds but confirmed that “lava flows are contained within the summit area and are not threatening downslope communities.”

HAWAII’S LARGEST ACTIVE VOLCANO ON THE PLANET HIT BY MAGNITUDE 5.0 EARTHQUAKE

“Residents at risk from Mauna Loa lava flows should review preparedness and refer to Hawai‘i County Civil Defense information for further guidance,” the U.S. Geological Survey said in its warning to residents. “Based on past events, the early stages of a Mauna Loa eruption can be very dynamic and the location and advance of lava flows can change rapidly.”

The eruption comes after the active volcano was put into a “state of heightened unrest” due to a magnitude 5.0 earthquake that hit in mid-October. Although the volcano did not erupt in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, it’s unclear whether that incident contributed to the eruption on Sunday.

Mauna Loa has erupted 33 times since 1843, with its last eruption being recorded in 1984. During that incident, lava flow from the volcano came within 4.5 miles of the island’s largest town, Hilo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory will coordinate with other emergency management partners to monitor the volcanic activity, it said in the emergency alert. Officials also confirmed it will conduct an overflight to assess future hazards.

CDC spending another $55 million to research tobacco for absurd reason

By Adam Andrzejewski @Real Clear Wire

For more than half a century, the American public has known that smoking tobacco can cause cancer and lead to an early death. It seems that isn’t enough for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is awarding at least $55 million next year for more research in that area.

The Division of Cancer Prevention and Control and the Office of Smoking and Health will give $40 million to “a consortium of population-specific, public health-oriented, national networks to impact tobacco-related and cancer health disparities among specific populations.”

We already know that different populations of Americans smoke more than others — native Americans and some Hispanic communities have high rates of cigarette smoking, and black smokers are much more likely to use menthol tobacco products, according to the American Lung Association.

But the grant is paying researchers in “national networks” $40 million to bring various groups together “with the goals of leveraging and pooling resources, supporting those groups in advancing health equity, and increasing implementation of culturally appropriate interventions deployed through a health equity lens.”

What’s needed, the grant summary argues, is “population-specific” ways to support prevention and control of tobacco use.

These “populations experiencing disparities” have been harmed by “generations of unfair and unjust policies and practices, including the tobacco industry’s aggressive target marketing to certain people and communities.”
